Things To Do Around
Flagstaff

Things to do around Flagstaff? Absolutely! There's more to do
than time to do them... or write about them.
Among things to do around Flagstaff are parades, rodeos, fairs, art shows, craft shows,
car shows, horse shows, dog shows, gun shows, and chili cooking contests... and
music - in the square, in the pines, and where you find it.
My problem isn't doing things around Flagstaff... it's
finding the time to write about what we're doing and seeing.
Things to do around Flagstaff always include museums and
such. Many are related to Flagstaff's history. There's the Pioneer
Museum, Fort Tuthill
Military Museum, the Riordan
Mansion, Museum
of Northern Arizona, and the Flagstaff
Arboretum.
Earlier I told you that I just don/t have
time to write about all that we do and see around Flagstaff. We recently
visited the Riordan Mansion. The Riordan family was, and is, important to the
nurturing of Flagstaff and surrounding area.
We found the (twin) home and it's story very interesting
and informative. The visit added to our understanding of Flagstaff history.
And then, there's the Sedona
Museum, Camp
Verde Museum, Clemenceau
Heritage Museum just a pleasant drive away.
For live entertainment Flagstaff needs more
venues. There's the famous Museum Club on Route 66, the
Pine Mountain Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill County Park, and a few
casinos down the highway.
The Museum Club isn't really a museum. It's a world famous Route
66 roadhouse, featuring dancing, live music, and drinks.
Then there's the brewpubs... the Mogollon Brewing
Company, the Beaver Street Brewery and Whistle Stop Cafe,
and the Flagstaff
Brewing Company. All of these are in downtown
Flagstaff.
There's also camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking,
rock climbing, rafting, and skiing. Downhill and cross country skiing in
the winter, and trout and pike fishing when the lakes aren't
frozen.
And there's lots of other stuff to do and see. Don't
forget the Snowbowl's scenic skyride! You can see far and wide
from the elevation of 11,500 feet. Flagstaff, Williams, Grand
Canyon, and all in between are at your feet. (Take a sweater or
jacket.)
There are also a few parks and such that must be experienced...
The Red Rock, and Slide Rock State Parks near Sedona, Dead Horse
Ranch State Park near Cottonwood are all great., The Painted
Desert and Petrified Forest near Holbrook, and Sunset Crater,
Wupatki, Walnut Canyon, and Meteor Crater are famous natural
wonders to see as well.

There's the Grand Canyon Railroad at Williams and the Verde Canyon Railroad
at Clarkdale.
And of course there are tours. There's tours to and through the Grand
Canyon, Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona and the surrounding Red Rock Country. You can
tour by helicopter, hot air balloon, bus, jeep, horse or mule, by whitewater
raft, and on foot.
The events calendar page lists a number of things
to do around Flagstaff. The local
newspaper lists many other
things to do around Flagstaff as well.
Things to do around Flagstaff
are just waiting for you.
A Google search using
the keyword phrase flagstaff attractions will
display a variety of resources. Be sure to notice the relevant ads down the right side... those are resources
also.
And then there are the places to go... but that's a different page.
Things to do around Flagstaff and places to go are interesting, educational...
and fun.
