Educational Toys
Educational toys perform double duty.
First of all they're fun. Any toy must be fun
to use, otherwise the toy sits in a closet for a few years, and then
goes in the Thrift Store donations. The only person educated was you.
Second, the toy must help a kid learn or otherwise
develop. Now I'm not saying that a set of barbells is an educational toy, but I
am saying that while some educational toys stimulate the mind, others
can also help develop things like hand-eye coordination.

Who buys educational toys? Parents and grandparents buy them for their kids.
Parents buy them as gifts to other kids, and some teens and preteens buy them
for their own use.
And oh yes, adults buy educational toys for themselves and others. I
think telescopes, foreign language instruction CD's and many other items are
educational toys
A good selection of educational toys can be hard to find
around Flagstaff stores... but you can find them on the internet!
Educational toys are big on the internet because online educational
toy stores offer a huge selection... a much larger selection than a
brick-and-mortar store can afford to stock.
My favorite merchant for educational toys is probably the Discovery Channel Store...
and all those who advertise on this page!
These on-line stores sell great hobby goods, educational toys, and just plain fun toys and gifts...
- Robotics
- Magic tricks
- Science kits
- Radio controlled cars
- Model planes
- And much more
These interest areas can grow into a fun hobby, a side business, or a career. Robotics and other sciences are interesting, contribute to society, and pay well.
It's just so easy to shop for educational toys on the internet.
A Google search using
the keyword phrase developmental toys will
display a variety of resources. Be sure to notice the relevant ads down the right side... those are resources
also.
